Safety & Security

As the owners and operators of Bass Performance Hall, Performing Arts Fort Worth has security measures in place in an effort to enhance comfort and provide the safest environment possible for our patrons, artists, and organizations that call Bass Hall home.

No Smoking or Vaping

Use of any tobacco products or any electronic smoking devices is prohibited and can interfere with fire safety systems. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Arrive Early and Travel Light So You Don't Miss the Start of the Show

Please be advised that due to enhanced security measures and screening, we are asking patrons to arrive early and travel light to make sure they don’t miss the start of the show and get caught in a late seating hold. To ensure you’re able to park and enjoy dining or shopping before the show, avoid bringing oversized bags, packages, backpacks and luggage to the theater. All persons and bags are subject to search and screening before entering the building; and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.

To expedite the process, please remove keys, cell phones, and any other large metal objects from your pockets and bags/purses. Alternative accommodations for security screening will be provided to those who need it. Guests who refuse screening will be denied entry. Please note that the box office entrance on Commerce St. is not open during performances. Please use the main entrance at Commerce and E. 4th St.

Items Not Permitted to Enter:

  • Oversized bags, luggage, instrument cases, and backpacks. Bags must fit comfortably under your seat.
  • Weapons of any shape or size including (but not limited to) firearms, knives of any kind, throwing stars, machetes, tasers and mace*
  • Outside food or beverage including alcohol (empty Bass Hall souvenir cups are permitted)
  • Any other items deemed dangerous, hazardous, illegal or inappropriate

Items Subject to Inspection:

  • Jackets and coats
  • Bags
  • Infant care bags, plastic bottles and formula
  • Medically necessary items

These security guidelines will be in place for all performances in Bass Performance Hall, McDavid Studio and Van Cliburn Recital Hall. All items that do not pass security must be returned to vehicles.

If You See Something, Say Something!

Guests can feel comfortable reporting suspicious and/or dangerous behavior to an usher, staff or security officer.

*Arts Amenities, Inc. is the private corporation that leases the premises to provide food and beverage service at the Hall.  This lease has been in place since the opening of the facility in 1998.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) makes a determination every two years (upon renewal) as to which signs are required to be posted and Bass Performance Hall is required to adhere to their determination.  The TABC’s website shows that a “Red” sign is required at Bass Performance Hall.  The “Red” sign is the 51% sign.

Because of the State mandated 51% sign, any Licensed or Unlicensed possession of a Handgun on our premises is a felony.
