Performing Arts Fort Worth presents a new streaming production illuminating the life and legacy of Bessie Coleman, a native Texan who was determined to fulfill her dream of learning how to fly. Making that dream a reality was exceedingly difficult in the United States in the 1920s as women and African Americans faced many roadblocks.
Professional storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston dramatically shares Bessie Coleman’s journey. During her life, Bessie traveled thousands of miles to become the first American to hold an International Pilot’s license.
