Christopher Aspaas serves as Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at TCU. Christopher received his Ph.D. in Choral Music Education at The Florida State University in Tallahassee, his M.M. in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University in East Lansing, his B.M. in Voice Performance from St. Olaf. Christopher has served on the faculties of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

At TCU, Christopher leads the Concert Chorale, TCU’s flagship mixed ensemble as well as the FrogCorps, TCU’s premier male vocal ensemble. He also teaches coursework in basic conducting, choral conducting, choral literature, advanced choral conducting and oversees the graduate choral conducting program.

Christopher has produced more than forty arrangements and compositions for mixed, men’s and women’s choirs. His works are published by Augsburg Fortress, earthsongs, Hal Leonard, and Aspen Hill Music, a publishing house Christopher co-founded with his wife Nancy in 2013. His latest commission premiered at the 2017 National Conference of the American Choral Directors Association in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Parental/Legal Guardian Consent and Liability Waiver

As the parent or legal guardian, my child has my permission to fully participate in Performing Arts Fort Worth’s 2024 Summer Camp(s). I, as parent or legal guardian, do hereby grant Performing Arts Fort Worth staff and their designated adults the right to authorize emergency medical treatment for my child in the event that I or my designated emergency contact cannot be reached. I hereby grant permission for Performing Arts Fort Worth staff to take whatever steps necessary to obtain emergency treatment for my child. These steps may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  1. In a life-threatening emergency or urgent situation, staff will call 911 before making any attempt to contact parent, legal guardian, or designated emergency contact.
     
  2. For a non-life-threatening emergency, Performing Arts Fort Worth staff will attempt to contact the parent or legal guardian first, and if unable to reach them, Performing Arts Fort Worth staff will attempt to contact the designated Emergency Contact(s) listed above. If unable to make an appropriate contact, Performing Arts Fort Worth staff will call paramedics if that action is deemed necessary by Performing Arts Fort Worth management or City Center Security. Performing Arts Fort Worth shall bear no responsibility for any medical expenses incurred while my child is participating in any activity during the Camp. 

As the parent or legal guardian, I understand that Performing Arts Fort Worth and staff will not be responsible for anything that may happen to my child as a result of false information provided by parent or legal guardian, or as a result of the parent or legal guardian's failure to provide information at the time of registration. I understand that Performing Arts Fort Worth and staff shall not be responsible at any time my child is off Performing Arts Fort Worth property.  After checking in, the students are required to stay onsite until they are released at the end of the camp day. Students will be permitted to leave early if they are signed out by their parent or guardian.

Enrollment of my child in Performing Arts Fort Worth‘s Summer Camp constitutes my agreement to this waiver and confirms that I have read and understand all policy and procedural information. I understand that the Parent or Legal Guardian Information and designated Emergency Contact Information above must be completed before my child may register for a Performing Arts Fort Worth camp.

As the parent or legal guardian, I do hereby consent and agree that Performing Arts Fort Worth, its Board, Committees, staff, designated adults, or members have the right to take photographs, videotape, or digital recordings of my child and to use these in any and all media, now or hereafter known. I further consent that my child’s name and identity may be revealed therein or by descriptive text or commentary.

I do hereby release to Performing Arts Fort Worth, its Board, Committees, staff, designated adults, or members all rights to exhibit this work in print and electronic form publicly or privately and to market and sell copies. I waive any rights, claims, or interest I may have to control the use of my child’s identity or likeness in whatever media used.

I understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration for recording my child, either for initial or subsequent transmission or playback.

I understand that Performing Arts Fort Worth is not responsible for any expense or liability incurred as a result of my child’s participation in this recording, including medical expenses due to any sickness or injury incurred as a result.

Enrollment of my child in Performing Arts Fort Worth‘s Summer Camp(s) constitutes my agreement to this Release for Media Recording and that I have read and understand all policy and procedural information.
