Overview

NOVEMBER 17, 2024

Rock bands Three Dog Night and Little River Band will be the featured artists at the 2024 Legends Concert Series, The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s signature fundraising event.

Three Dog Night, formed in 1967, is renowned for its harmonious vocal arrangements and a string of chart-topping hits during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Grammy-nominated band achieved remarkable success with 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 11 Top 10 singles and three number-one songs like "Joy to the World." They earned 12 gold albums, blending rock, pop, and soul with powerful vocal harmonies that left a lasting impact on the music industry. The band's name refers to a term used by native Australian hunters who huddled with their dogs on cold nights, with the coldest being a "three dog night."

Little River Band, formed in Melbourne in 1975, is known for smooth harmonies and a melodic rock sound. They gained significant commercial success in Australia and the U.S. during the late 1970s and early 1980s. As one of the first Australian bands to achieve major success in the U.S., they had several Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Reminiscing" and "Lonesome Loser." Their sophisticated, radio-friendly sound helped them become one of Australia's most successful bands internationally, with over 30 million records sold worldwide.
