The CEP provides age-appropriate, curriculum-related arts education experiences free of charge annually for 65,000 students and teachers.

As part of your Ain’t Too Proud VIPP Pre-Show Reception, you are invited to enjoy a special event of the Children’s Education Program–A Motown Cypher. This student performance, featuring Fort Worth high school fine arts students, will be in McDavid Studio and give you a glimpse into the opportunities students have because of you and your support. Experiences like this Motown Cypher provide students we serve an “opportunity” like the ones acknowledged by Dr. Otis Williams, founding member of The Temptations, “…Looking back, I never could have imagined where my life has taken me. I’m proud of what The Temptations have achieved, and I’m grateful for every opportunity we’ve been so fortunate to receive.”

About the Cypher Event:
What is a cypher? In a cypher, one person will sing/speak about a certain topic, which is quickly take up or flipped by another person who plays off the prior words and themes. Cyphers flow freely between diverse performers who improvise their words, sounds, or movement to create a complex matrix of sharing.

Fort Worth high school fine arts students will be showcasing their talents at this first-time performance event. The Cypher culminates after a day of workshops as students hone their improvisation and creative writing skills.
